It’s Simple …..
You and I. . . ARE MADE IN HIS IMAGE
Genesis 1, verse 26 specifically says … by the Creator Himself …
God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, after Our likeness . . .
Verse 27 reiterates this same truth ….
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Sit for just a moment and let that simple truth soak in …..
The question for me … and ya’ll can join in … is this ….
Do I truly understand just how beautiful and majestic The Triune God is??
I know that IF I truly did know how grand my God is … the very thought of being MADE IN HIS IMAGE would absolutely take my breath away! And I would think of myself a bit different … the murmurings in my head would change …. please tell me you all have murmurings about yourself in your head too?? I can be so quick to get down on myself … or think “she” has more smarts, talents, gifts, abilities, looks, etc … etc… etc…. Am I right?
I desire to have the murmurings in my head say ….
I AM made in HIS image!
And this is just some of what His Word says about His image ….
- O LORD my God, You are great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty (Ps. 104:1)
- O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens (Ps. 8:1)
- One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD and to meditate in His temple (Ps. 27:4)
- And He is the RADIANCE OF HIS GLORY and the EXACT REPRESENTATION of His NATURE, and upholds all things by the word of His power (Heb. 1:3a)
- Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (Jn. 11:40)
Oh! There are so many more nuggets I could pull out from His Word that tell of His glory, majesty and beauty … but I will leave you to search for more yourself :>
So TODAY …
- Will I & will you CHOOSE to believe this simple truth?
- Will I & will you make it your goal to please Him by rejoicing in His grandeur?
- Will I & will you passionately pursue loving the One who’s image we bear?
